FAQs
How do I use a computer?
Assuming you mean how do I use a computer at the Cue Club, rather than "how do computers work"...
If you are a member all you need to do is login to an unused computer with your user name and password and start playing. If you have unused minutes or a positive account balance you can play until these run out.
If you arent a member then you need to see a staff member and they will set that up for you. If you want to use a pool/snooker table you have to get a staff member to log you in.

How much does membership cost?
Membership is free.

What info do I need to give you for a membership?
We need to know your full name, this becomes your login name, and your birthdate. We may check your birthday if you dont seem to be as old as you claim.

Can I let other people use my membership?
No you cant. The membership is yours only and you cannot pass your login details around.

What happens when my account runs out?
The system will log you out. Then you can recharge it if you choose to. If you havent made any transactions on your account for the last three months we may delete it.

How do I put more money/time on my account?
Just give your money to the staff member and they will add it to your account. If you'd like to buy cheaper time then buy an offer. See the About page for more info on offers

How do I make a booking?
You can make bookings by calling us, on 477 3064

Do you do gift certificates/vouchers?
We do. If you buy a gift certificate it can be redeemed onto the recipients account or used as an accout in its own right.

If you recieve a voucher bring it in and give it to the staff member who will be able to add it to your regular account for instant credit

Can I print/burn stuff at the cue club.
Technically you can but we arent an office centre and therefore we arent set up to make it easy. But as always, we can make it happen.

What games do you have?
See the games page

What does it cost?
Read the About page for price information

Do I have to use all my time in one session?
Some offers are designed to be used in one session. If you log out the time will be deleted. On the whole any 10 hour reload, $10 recharge or plain money deposit will allow you to log out, even leave and come back days later. Cash deposits will never expire. Cash balances under $0.50 (fifty cents) will be wiped if you havent logged in for the last three months

Can I bring food/drink with me?
You can, although we'd rather you didnt

Can I bring my own pc? and what would it cost?
Yes you can. See Mark for pricing information

Are you hiring?
No, not at this time

Where is the cue club?
65 St Andrew St, Dunedin
Thats above the rock shop.

Why does my cafe login not work on here?
I have no idea. If for any reason the server or our web-to-cafe connection breaks then its possible you wont be able to log in.

If you cant login fire off an email to inga@cueclub.net.nz and we'll look into it

What are the house rules?
See the About page for the house rules

What games do you have?
Check the games page for an updated list of our current games. The games pages will also give you information about what personal user files we keep for you and age restrictions

What age restrictions do you enforce?
Currently our system enforces New Zealand Restricted ratings. This is required by law and therefore we have to comply, regardless of whether we believe the censor is correct in his rating.

Parents may make lists of games their children are not allowed to play but they would be in addition to any R ratings handed down by the censorship office. If your mum says you can play Counter-Strike but you're only 15 then you still cant play it at the Cue Club

Can I bring my own games?
Technically you can, but in reality it will cause us some grief. If you absolutely must play a particular game then by all means give us a call and let us know you're coming and that you want to play your own game. We'll book you a machine that we know has space to handle it and install it when you get there,

Do you save my configs/savegames?
In most cases, yes we do, but this is a best effort service. From time to time the systems have a little fit and refuse to play nicely. Steam games are notorious for this. If you have save games and the machine dies on you before you log out then let us know and we'll do a manual recovery. Otherwise the next person (including you) to login may wipe your saves.
If you are playing through any of the single player games and you want to check your save games are being saved you can just ask us. We'll check to see that the files are in the right place and that they look ok.

Why cant I play (random game name here)?
Possibly you are too young and the rating is stopping you from playing, or your mum has said you cant play this game and so we have removed it from your profile. Otherwise it may just be a minor glitch and we can fix the problem if you tell us about it.

Whats a good multiplayer game for a birthday party?
Depending on the age of the participants there are some good options.
Garrys mod for all-age multiplayer engineering fun
Team Fortress for team based capture the flag with a twist
Warcraft 3/comamnd and conquer generals for strategy gamers
The choices are fairly limitless. Call to discuss your requirements

How do I lodge complaints and criticism?
You dont, its not nice to criticize... Joking.
If you have something to say then you're more than welcome to post it in the forums, or the chat box or you could mail us at mark@cueclub.net.nz

Do you run leagues/tournaments? How do I sign up?
In the future we will run all our leagues from this site using the MGL system we have developed over the last few years
