Savage 2

Players can choose between two factions: the Legion of Man or the Beast Horde. The initial launch of Savage 2 features the Conquer game type. This game is won by destroying the enemy's command center - which is either a stronghold or a lair. Each team elects one commander - which views the world top down - that should build defenses and upgrades to support his team. The other players of his team pick a class - which can be changed later - and scout for enemies and resources.

The only real resource is gold, which can be gathered from gold mines. These mines are vital for each team since they are the only way to build defenses and pay the upkeep.

Firefox

Firefox Web Browser will be added to all computers. It is more robust than Internet Explorer (it crashes far less often) and seems to play nicely with the proxy server we use.

Dawn of War II

It is the 41st Millennium in Sub-Sector Aurelia - a cluster of worlds on the edge of the Galaxy - and a battle of epic proportions is about to begin. Ancient races will clash across the planets that dot this section of space, battling for the greatest of stakes - not only the claim to the land and its bounty - but the fate of each race.
With a focus on fast-action RTS gameplay, Dawn of War II brings to life the science fiction universe of Warhammer 40,000 like never before. Experience the intimate brutality of battle as you play through the epic campaign. Clash with enemies on battlefields ablaze with visceral hand-to-hand and ranged combat. Lead and develop your squads into the most battle hardened elite strike force in the Galaxy.

 Dawn of War II

Today we installed Dawn of War 2 on a few of the computers. In the next few days we will get around to putting it on the black machines but there are a few other things happening this week so it might take a while to get them all done.

Dawn of War 2 is available to try FREE for one hour to each and every customer. Come in, tell us you want to try it and we'll sort you out. Conditions apply: obviously this is a "one per customer" offer, and the free hour ties you into Dawn of War specifically. You cant play anything else until the hour runs out. If you change your mind and dont want to play the rest of the hour you will need to get us to remove it. You will need to make a Games for Windows Live account. If you have an existing GFWL account or an MSN Messenger account this will also work. We wont do this free hour if we are especially busy tho.

Theres some new hardware coming this week and next. More details to follow.

We've been having a few web connection issues recently so you may have had intermittent login issues on this site. These will unfortunately continue for a bit longer yet however they shouldnt be as often. Sorry about that

 Ladder Status

The ladder code is basicly done. This is an ELO style ladder rather than your standard ladder. Use it now and we'll fix the bugs as they come up later. The ladder is 2v2, this means teams of 2, not 3 or more, just 2. I will hardcode this all in later but for now, dont be clowns.

ELO is described quite well HERE. Our interpretation is somewhat closely related to this but is also somewhat different, We have set K=32 for all ranks. This means if you are playing a team with the same rank as you the max you can get in points is 50% (probability of winning) of 32 (K), or 16 for a win and -16 for a loss. Max points in the ladder is 1000 x the number of teams.

If you want to receive ladder updates such as new challenges you need to set an email address in your profile.
The challenge form is on the main ladder page. Click where it says "OMG, click here... "
Accept/decline challenges in your team info page. Declines are acceptable assuming you have a good reason.

Mark wants me to code some sort of register of whos in the cue club so if you are all on the LAN at the same time you will know who to challenge and who isnt there. I have done a preliminary job of this but its not foolproof.

 Some possibly helpful information...

I added the league tools in today. Its not hard to work with but theres some stuff you need to know...
Teams are very simple and team management is just as simplistic. If you are in a team you have the right to add/remove players, enter match results and change team details. There are no different rights, either you're in a team and you can or you arent in that team and you cant. Admins can change your stuff as well.
Enter a match result and the score table will auto update.
Click on a team name to either view that team or edit it. If you are in a team in this event you will see whatever contact info the team has left for their opponants. This page is logged in members only and only people in the event can see contact info. *fingers crossed anyway* :B
Thats really all there is to it.

ebetting is gambling with imaginary money. All for fun. When the score for a game gets added the ebetting will pay out based on the total money pool for that match. If everyone bets on the winning team then theres nothing to pay out except your original money. If you all bet on the loser then the cueclub keeps your e-cash,

Good luck, have fun, dont break anything

 DOTA 4v4 TOURNAMENT

We have 4 teams entered.
HOWEVER, 2 teams are unable to front up this Friday night (Sept' 26).
I don't want to wait until next friday night to run this event, as it seems one or more teams is always likely to have trouble attending friday night events.

I now intend that teams be allowed a week to play all qualifying games.
We will set up a page for the recording of results later today, and it will be then up to teams to organise between themselves, mutually suitable times to play each match.
All qualifying round games should be completed by the end of Friday October 3rd.
I will contact teams who have uncompleted games asap on saturday 4th October.
I propose that any matches not complete by the end of Sunday 5th October, will be defaulted.
Then we can agree a date and time for the final between the top 2 qualifiers.

New entries are still able to be accepted at this time.... but dont wait too long!
(It is now potentially possible to extend beyond the 5 team limit we originally set for this event)

 Trading Cards

The trading cards system will now give out cards for logging in. Sometimes you wont get one, mostly you will tho. If this is your first time logging in on the site then you wont get one. If you draw a card that isnt available through logins then you wont get it. If you already have 3 or more of the card you draw you wont get it. Otherwise you'll get a new card.

Cards have no value, no purpose and no physical form. Currently you wont get anything special if you collect the set although I'm trying to convince mark it would be a good idea to be able to trade in a set for account time.

Feel free to trade between yourselves. Although cards have no value there are rare cards and each card has a total release size which should be taken into account when trading. Additionally some cards cant be got just by logging in. These cards will obviously be more "special" than the others. But ultimately the market sets the price, or lack of price on any card you have.

I'm not sure how to give out the rare cards yet. If you have any ideas let me know.

 School holiday tournament

The holidays are coming up and we'd like to run some organised events. Potential options would be mini CoD4 tournament/LAN, 2v2 Counter-Strike, Dota tournaments, or even something for the World of Warcraft players. Tell us what you think might work and we'll try and set it up.
This would be a good place to tell us your idea.

 A little site redesign

The site is undergoing some major changes. Logins currently work, off your Cue Club account login same as before. You will be able to see your account balance if you login, additionally you will be able to collect and trade your virtual trading cards :B, check the current status of the cueclub including whos logged in (assuming they have set a display name on this site) and post in the forum.
